LinkedIn Launches AI Agent To Identify Candidates And Conduct Screening Interviews

LinkedIn has recently launched an artificial intelligence-powered hiring assistant aimed at transforming the recruitment process. Known as the “Hiring Assistant,” this innovative tool is designed to help recruiters streamline their hiring efforts by sourcing candidates and posing screening questions.

The Hiring Assistant allows recruiters to specify details about the position they need to fill and describe their ideal candidate profile. According to Hari Srinivasan, LinkedIn’s vice president of product for Talent Solutions, the tool has already been tested internally before its rollout to a select group of charter customers. Over the next year, LinkedIn plans to broaden access to this feature. It will be offered as an additional component to the existing LinkedIn Recruiter product, although pricing details have yet to be disclosed.

So, what can LinkedIn’s Hiring Assistant actually do? The tool aims to go beyond simply providing a list of potential candidates. It will assist in developing hiring plans, identifying job applicants, and analyzing search outcomes. This means that hiring professionals can utilize the assistant for bulk outreach while still sending personalized messages. The assistant is also equipped to ask candidates pre-screening questions to streamline the initial stages of the hiring process. Importantly, the AI learns from user interactions and feedback, adapting to the recruiter’s specific preferences over time. This capability is referred to as “experiential memory,” as explained by Erran Berger, the lead product engineer at LinkedIn. The more the assistant is used, the better it becomes at supporting recruiters in their tasks.

The introduction of this AI tool marks a significant shift in how recruitment can be approached. It not only aims to save time for hiring teams but also enhances the quality of candidate outreach by leveraging AI capabilities. As LinkedIn continues to innovate in the recruitment space, the Hiring Assistant represents a promising step forward in using technology to create a more efficient and effective hiring process.
